Following WHA Group’s enthusiasm in innovative energy solutions, WHAUP continued its on-going cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) for joint development of smart energy and microgrid system to reduce electricity cost and increase reliability within the industrial complex.

Thinking ahead, WHAUP is developing the SMART Metering initiative to further enhance the traceability of utilities provided. Starting in late 2019, WHAUP converted the installed analog water meters that record the volume of water supplied and usage by industrial operators throughout the industrial complex to generate digital output.

WHAUP is currently conducting studies to optimize SCADA technology at its wastewater treatment plant located within the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) in Wangchan district, Rayong province.
