WHAUP Reinforces Leadership in Renewable Energy Solutions, Partners with Re-x Products to Drive Green Factory Transformation

Bangkok – WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Re-x Products Co., Ltd., a leading cosmetics manufacturer and full-service OEM brand owner, ranked among the top five cosmetics factories in Thailand. The project involves the installation of a rooftop solar power generation system (Solar Rooftop) with a total capacity of 1 MWp at Re-x Products’ Nonthaburi and Rayong facilities, covering a combined rooftop area of more than 6,000 square meters.

The installation is expected to be completed and commence commercial operations by August 2026, supporting the reduction of carbon emissions in line with the company’s Net Zero target by 2050.

Mr. Akarin Prathuangsit, Chief Executive Officer and Acting Chief Operating Officer of WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP), stated that the signing of this agreement marks another milestone for WHAUP in delivering renewable energy solutions to customers both within and beyond WHA Group’s industrial estates. The project responds to the growing demand from the business sector for tangible and effective clean energy adoption.

The project consists of a total installed capacity of 1 MWp, with Solar Rooftop systems installed on factory rooftops spanning 3,000 square meters at the Nonthaburi facility and 3,000 square meters at the Rayong facility. The installation will enhance energy efficiency, reduce electricity costs, and mitigate long-term environmental impacts.

“This partnership with Re-x Products underscores WHAUP’s role as a leader in comprehensive energy management solutions, delivering high-efficiency renewable energy systems that meet international standards. The 1 MWp Solar Rooftop installation not only helps reduce energy costs for our customer, but also promotes the adoption of clean energy across the business sector, supporting Thailand’s sustainable development goals and the Net Zero 2050 target in a tangible manner,” Mr. Akarin said.

Annual Energy Cost Savings of Over THB 1.9 Million and Carbon Reduction of More Than 15,400 Tons Over 30 Years Across Both Locations

The Solar Rooftop project delivers significant economic and environmental benefits. At the Nonthaburi facility, the system is expected to reduce energy costs by more than THB 950,000 per year while cutting carbon dioxide emissions by an average of 280 tons per year, or more than 8,500 tons over a 30-year period.

At the Rayong facility, energy cost savings are projected at over THB 970,000 per year, with average carbon dioxide emission reductions of 230 tons per year, or more than 6,900 tons over 30 years.

“The Solar Rooftop installation at Re-x Products not only reduces total energy costs across both facilities by more than THB 1.9 million per year, but also cuts total carbon emissions by over 15,400 tons over 30 years, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship and a sustainable future,” the company stated.

The project also highlights WHAUP’s leadership in integrated energy management solutions and reinforces WHA Group’s role in driving Thailand’s business sector toward a sustainable future.
