Central JD Commerce Chooses WHA Corporation for E-Commerce Warehouse Aiming to Expand E-Commerce Business in Thailand and ASEAN

The joint venture between Central Group and JD.com, one of the biggest e-commerce companies from China, will lease a 6,848 sq. m. warehouse at WHA Mega Logistics Center

Bangkok, 17 January 2018 – WHA Corporation PCL (WHA Group), Thailand’s leader in fully-integrated logistics and industrial facilities solutions, has announced the signing of a warehouse lease contract with Central JD Commerce Limited, Thailand’s leading e-commerce joint venture between top Thai retailer Central Group and JD.com, one of the largest e-commerce companies from China.

The expandable contract agreement covers a warehouse with a total floor area of 6,848 sq. m. at WHA Mega Logistics Center Chonlaharnpichit on Bangna-Trad Road, Km 19. Accessible from three roads - Bangna-Trad, Theparak and Sukhumvit (old route) roads - the leased facility is conveniently located close to Bangkok city center, as well as the Suvarnabhumi International Airport, two strategic positions for e-commerce and retail industries.

This facility comes in addition to three other Central Group Business Units - namely Central Department Store, Central Restaurant Group and Central Group online – which are already situated in the vicinity and will enable Central JD Commerce to share resources for better operational efficiency. Equipped with a wide loading area well-adapted for e-commerce operations, the leased warehouse will be used for a wide variety of goods and products ranging from electronics and fashion to dry grocery items and others.

In Thailand, WHA Corporation controls about 2.1 million square meters in various logistics facilities, including Built-to-Suit facilities (BTS) and multi-tenant warehouse farms. The group plans to reach over 3 million square meters within the next 3-4 years.
