WHA Group Partners with IEAT and Communities to Achieve Net Zero
Rayong, Thailand – June 7, 2024 – Mr. Pajongwit Pongsivapai, Chief Operating Officer, WHA Industrial Development Plc. (WHAID), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on tree planting and maintenance with the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Community No. 7, Klong Kew Sub-district, Ban Bueng District, Chonburi Province, and WHAID at the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong) Office Meeting Room. The objective of the MOU is to foster collaboration among all parties, including the industrial sector, to plant trees, maintain and develop green areas (community forests), and increase local forest cover in the vicinity of the industrial estate in a sustainable manner. This encompasses developing green spaces into learning centers for ecosystems and community forests, reducing greenhouse gas emissions to achieve Net Zero by 2050, and establishing a carbon neutrality collaboration network.
