WHA Joins EEC in Applying EEC Square Youth’s Innovation Project to Thrive in the Green Industry within WHA Area

On January 12, 2024, Mr. Pajongwit Pongsivapai, Chief Operating Officer of WHA Industrial Development Public Company Limited participated in signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and 9 educational institutions to expand youth work submitted to the competition under the project to enhance the potential of the Environmental Youth Network. To develop the Eastern Special Development Zone or EEC Square (EEC2) for the year 2023 at the conference room of EEC Office.

Mr. Pajongwit Pongsivapai emphasized that as an EEC industrial developer and operator, WHA places great importance on protecting the environment and coexisting with the community and area development. This commitment extends especially to supporting the ideas of the new generation to invent and develop various innovations. Therefore, WHA will be implementing two youth projects from Saint Louis School Chachoengsao (Wastewater oil removal tank with cattail fiber absorbent pad) and Mon Thong Withaya School (Rice Straw Pot). Following the implementation of these projects, WHA aims to gather feedback and practical insights to facilitate the further development of these ideas and projects.

In addition, WHA has brought school bags as a product of the WeCycle project. This initiative utilizes PET plastic bottles, breaking them down and weaving them into fibers, along with fibers produced from water hyacinths obtained from WHA's wastewater treatment projects. These fibers are combined to produce yarn, which is then woven into fabric to create soft yet durable school bags. The company has distributed these bags to the children participating in the project today.
