Bangkok, November 4, 2021 – WHA Group has received the prestigious Rising Star Sustainability Award for listed companies in real estate and construction from the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) during the SET Awards 2021, in recognition of the company’s contribution to society and commitment to the environment. A listed company since 2012, WHA has stood out for its business management practices and operations while strictly adhering to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. The award ceremony was held via SET’s online platform.

“I am deeply honored to accept the Rising Star Sustainability Award on behalf of WHA Group,” said Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, Chairman and Group CEO of WHA Corporation PCL. “Sustainability is at the very core of our company, as we continuously strive to combine corporate governance with social responsibility and environmental concern. This award confirms our commitment as an active member of society to uphold the highest standards and to raise awareness. Our sincere thanks go to WHA executives and staff for their relentless contribution towards balanced development. We hope to set an example for others, especially newcomers in different sectors, to strive for sustainable growth for the benefit of generations to come.”

Among the most prominent green initiatives that WHA has launched over the years are the Clean Water for Planet Project. Initiated in 2016, the project’s goal was to raise awareness among customers and communities on the importance of natural resource conservation. WHA Group has constructed and delivered wastewater treatment systems to various communities including Pluak Daeng Sub-district Administrative Organization in Rayong Province to help improve water quality by using the eco-friendly Constructed Wetland Water Treatment. The treatment system has been inspired by the efforts and projects of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX). The company also contributed to the development of a Constructed Wetland Water Treatment for Chanthaburi’s Nong Khla Subdistrict Municipality.

In addition, WHA Group has signed an MoU with Chulalongkorn University on wastewater management and treatment projects to promote knowledge exchange and training of engineers. The partnership will focus on applying academic knowledge to real-world operations in industrial estates and surrounding communities.

The Group is also gaining widespread success in the promotion and installation of integrated solar energy systems for customers both inside and outside industrial estates operated by WHA Group to lower carbon emissions. Each initiative has been built upon and in line with the Group’s business direction. WHA is also a leader in community projects involving social welfare, education, youth and sports, employee development and community empowerment with the goal to strengthen communities and enhance the quality of life for Thai people.
