WHAUP and Partners Host Seminar and Workshop on “RENEX: Renewable Energy Trading Platform,” Driving a New Era of Clean Energy Trading in Thailand

WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP) recently organized a seminar titled “RENEX: Renewable Energy Trading Platform – Paving the Way to the Future of Clean Energy Trading” to raise awareness and prepare stakeholders for Thailand’s energy transition through an intelligent renewable energy trading platform. The event was held at the conference room of the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong).

The seminar was officially opened by Mr. Somkiat Masunthasuwun, Chief Executive Officer of WHAUP. It also featured a keynote presentation by Mr. Akarin Prathuangsit , Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of WHAUP, under the topic “Renewable Energy Trading Platform: Transitioning to an Intelligent Clean Energy Future.”

A special panel discussion titled “How Will the Energy Trading Platform Revolutionize Thailand’s Clean Energy Market?” brought together experts from both the public and private sectors, including Mr. Akarin Prathuangsit (WHAUP), Dr.Chanchai Amornviphat (Energy Regulatory Commission), Mr. Krisanapol Duanghom (Provincial Electricity Authority), and Mr. Nattachart Jerdnapapunt (Mekka V Co., Ltd.).

In the afternoon session, Mr. Watcharakit Techaprapasang from Sertis Co., Ltd. delivered a talk on “RENEX & AI-Powered: The Future of Renewable Energy Trading Platforms.” This was followed by a live demonstration of the RENEX platform by Mr. Suparerk Manitpornsut, offering participants hands-on insights into how technology enables peer-to-peer (P2P) renewable energy trading and a deeper understanding of market mechanisms.

This seminar marked a significant step forward for the energy sector, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders to promote sustainable clean energy adoption in Thailand. The RENEX platform, piloted within WHA Industrial Estates under the ERC Sandbox program, unlocks access to clean energy for users and helps establish an intelligent energy ecosystem.
