WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP) announced the successful completion of 14 solar energy projects with a combined capacity of 46.47 megawatts (MW) for Saha Farms Group, a leading player in Thailand's agricultural sector. The power handover ceremony took place at two main projects : a 20 MW solar farm at Golden Line Business Co., Ltd. in Phetchabun province, and a 9.7 MW floating solar project at Saha Farm Co., Ltd. in Lopburi province. All 14 projects are scheduled to commence commercial operation (COD) in Q4 2025.

Mr. Somkiat Masunthasuwun, Chief Executive Officer of WHAUP, stated that these 14 projects represent a significant expansion of WHAUP's renewable energy business beyond our industrial estates. The electricity generated will support Saha Farms's operations including slaughterhouses, processing plants, chicken farms, hatcheries, and animal feed production facilities, with a total investment value of over 1 billion baht.

On July 7, 2025, WHAUP held a power handover  ceremony at the two key projects including a 20 MW solar farm by Golden Line Business Co., Ltd., spanning approximately 168,916 square meters (105 rai) in Phetchabun, and a 9.7 MW floating solar project by Saha Farm Co., Ltd., covering about 84,694 square meters (52 rai) in Lopburi. Together, the two projects with a combined capacity of 29.7 MW are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 22,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e) per year.

Mr. Akarin Prathuangsit, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of WHAUP, added that the 14 projects incorporate a diverse range of solar technologies including solar farms, floating solar, and solar rooftops with a total capacity of 46.47 MW. Collectively, they are projected to reduce more than 35,000 tCO₂e annually. All projects are expected to reach COD in the fourth quarter of 2025, which, when combined with other projects, will bring WHAUP's cumulative power generation capacity for commercial operations to 200 MW.

WHAUP emphasizes the use of innovation to enhance energy management efficiency. All systems are integrated under its Unified Operation Center (UOC), which enables real-time monitoring of power generation, usage, and overall performance. This centralized control ensures consistent delivery of clean energy and maximized efficiency, fully supporting Saha Farms' ambitious "Go Green" mission.

Dr.Jaruwan Chotitewan, Chief of Marketing Officer, Chief of Finance Officer and Secretary of the Executive Committee of Saha Farm Co., Ltd, explained that the solar partnership with WHAUP is a crucial component of Saha Farms’ comprehensive sustainability strategy. The “Go Green” plan focuses on creating long-term value across economic, environmental, and social dimensions, aligning with modern management philosophy that believes businesses should create long-term value for society rather than focusing solely on profit, leveraging WHAUP's world-class expertise in driving clean energy as a core strategy for organizational transformation.

As part of its "Go Green" plan, Saha Farms also aims to integrate clean energy throughout all operations from production and transportation to logistics, while actively studying the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) within the company. Plans are already underway for Phase 2 and Phase 3 solar projects to ensure full renewable energy coverage across all business units

The Go Green project follows the aspiration of Dr. Panya Chotitewan, founder of Saha Farma Company, who wishes for Saha Farma ,to be a leader in clean energy use and a truly green organization. We believe that applying clean energy innovation will help reduce costs, minimize environmental impact, and create a better future for Thailand's agricultural industry," said Dr. Jaruwan.

Ms. Bunyalak Chotitewan, Company director of Saha Farm Co., Ltd. and Golden Line Business Co., Ltd., highlighted that Saha Farms, a fully integrated chicken producer and exporter with over 54 years of operations, remains committed to transparency, fairness, and environmental responsibility. These solar projects spanning over 300 rai support the production of over 700,000 chickens per day and are expected to reduce energy consumption by up to 30%, resulting in annual cost savings of over THB 100 million, or around THB 1.6 billion over the 14-year power purchase agreement.

This project is expected to reduce over 870,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent within 25 years and more than 1 million tons within 30 years — equivalent to planting over 56 million trees. This reflects WHA Group's commitment to conducting business according to sustainable development principles while concretely advancing toward the NET ZERO goal by 2050, reinforcing the mission "WHA: WE SHAPE THE FUTURE" in driving a sustainable future economically, socially, and environmentally.
